Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant (Driver) Location: North West England, Greater Manchester, Trafford ParkJob Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours - 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday.Primary Industry: Education and TrainingSalary: £78 - £90 Per dayAbout the Company:We are an SEN School that caters for SEN Students with physical and behavioural needs. Our school is in partnership with a local farm where the students help look after the animals and complete jobs. We are currently seeking not only an SEN Teaching assistantbut a driver who can take students and staff to and from the farm. Linked to the school is a residential faciliy for SEN children. The school is a friendly place to be and has a warm community feel. Job Duties:

  • Transport students and staff to and from the local farm
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transportation
  • Assist students with physical and behavioural needs during transportation
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • Support students with their tasks and activities at the farm
  • Collaborate with farm staff to ensure a positive learning experience
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns to the appropriate personnel
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Experience working with SEN students
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviours and provide appropriate support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and punctual
Education:
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Experience:
  • Prior experience working as a driver or in a similar role
  • Experience supporting individuals with special educational needs
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Good knowledge of road safety regulations
  • Understanding of the needs and challenges faced by SEN students
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in difficult situations
  • Basic First Aid knowledge
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional qualifications related to special educational needs
  • First Aid certification
Working Conditions: The role of an SEN Teaching Assistant (Driver) involves working in a school environment and driving students to and from the local farm. The work may require occasional physical exertion and the ability to handle challenging behaviours. The role may alsoinvolve exposure to outdoor elements during farm visits. The working hours are full-time, and the position is temporary.
