Job Description

Mechanical Site Service Engineer (Valves and Workshop)Location: ManchesterSalary:Upto£35,000 + Package (Bonus/Healthcare and Pension)3 Shift Rotating Role (phone number removed) (Monday to Friday - NO WEEKENDS)New Chapter are currently supporting a much-loved global brand in the search for a Mechanical Site Service Technician with focus on valve maintenance and workshop repair. Reporting into both the Engineering Manage and Maintenance Managers on site you will provide essential maintenance and first line response for the upkeeping of site service which make sure this well-known FMCG manufacturer can keep up with one of the fastest paces in the industry!This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual looking for true variance within their next opportunity; based in the process/workshop area is to carry out all valve servicing of both wet end and actuators in house. The role will also include workshop activities based around specific refurbishment activities as well as greasing and checks on process and utilities equipment.Your challenge In this role the key responsibilities will include:- Carryout planned preventative maintenance to agreed schedules for the following equipment:*Process Valves (Wet end and actuators)*Workshop overhauls*Boilers*Cooling Towers*Process Plants (Oversee works)- To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure.- To service adjust and repair machinery and equipment using the necessary tools in a safe and proper manner.- To examine machinery and equipment and report on condition, performance and plan of action for improvements.- Support the Site roadmaps for Quality / H S / EMS / Engineering / Autonomous maintenance.- Use and support simple 5WHYCI techniques / RCA techniques.- Use and support departmental 5s programmes.- Use and Support Reliability centred maintenance techniques.- Support the department with internal / external audits- Use the CMMS stores system to accuratley record parts taken out- To assess records and associated costs for repairs- To order appropriate replacement parts as required.- To liase with manufacturers of specialist machinery and equipmentKey skills & experience:ONC / HNC Level in mechanical discipline (NVQ Level 3 Preferred, however we can look at NVQ Level 2 in a Site Service discipline)Valve servicing experience beneficial.Experience working in a processing environment essential.Experience of LOTO procedures beneficial.PC Literate.Team Working / CommunicationTrustworthyAbility to prioritise own workloadThis is a great role in which to become part of a global business, it opens so many doors to future career progression and as such if you’re looking to make a move it should be with a view of developing a career with your next company.
