We are ambitious for you andwe care.We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Tax Manager here at our HQ in Manchester. This person will manage Group compliance with UK and overseas taxes, monitoring associated risk and keeping the Directors appropriately appraised. This role supports theMorson Group and additional recruitment businesses associated with the Group.This opportunity is ideally suitable for someone with a Recruitment/Managed Service/Shared Service environment who has insight into the challenges within this kind of environment.The role would suit a Manager or Assistant Manager wanting to move their tax career forward advising domestic and international businesses. Whilst previous international tax experience is helpful, strong technical skills, drive and curiosity are essential.Domestic Operations:

  • Liaise with and manage Group relationship with HMRC/ CRM.
  • Coordinate the SAO process, providing critical assurance to the SAO (CFO) in order to complete this annual sign-off. Identify and address areas of control weakness.
  • Actively maintain the Tax Risk Register.
  • Manage UK Corporation Tax compliance/ disclosures in conjunction with external advisors.
  • Review VAT returns and processes, providing assurance.
  • Support the Financial Operations Manager/ HR Managers with PAYE/ NI queries as required.
  • Support the FDs in areas of tax compliance under their control. Help identify and address weaknesses and share best practice.
  • Sit on the Group Legislation/ Compliance Steering Committee and understand the legislation around temporary working, intermediaries and CIS and provide support and regular advice to the business in this area.
  • Review of P11D process. Coordination of wider PSA process.
  • Ensure processes in place to check that all statutory filings and deadlines are met/ made
Overseas Operations:
  • Manage the international PSL of overseas management companies, undertaking sample checking and ensuring compliance.
  • Undertake a quarterly review of all workers based overseas reporting to the Exec Board on compliance and risk.
  • Support the Recruitment teams in overseas placementsdriving compliance whilst remaining commercial in approach.
  • Be key finance contact for setups of overseas subsidiaries/ branches etc, liaising with in-country professional advisors and service providers to ensure full compliance with local taxes and regulations. Maintain relationships with these advisors to keepabreast of developments.
  • Support the North America FD in managing local tax compliance.
  • Manage Transfer Pricing documentation and compliance.
  • Ensure that the overseas financial control environment operates effectively and appropriately.
  • Other:
  • Ensure CCO legislative requirements understood and communicated through the wider business. Ensure business processes work to drive compliance with this legislation.
  • Respond to new and changing legislation. Keep abreast of latest technical developments.
  • Ad hoc support in areas of expertise for Tenders, Recruitment Operations etc as required.
Experience and skills required:
  • ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualified with strong corporate tax and accounting knowledge
  • Ability to develop, coach and lead staff, as well as manage stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required in addition to strong oral and written communication skills
  • Well-developed analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
  • Pro-active in identifying and progressing business opportunities for the long-term benefit of both KPMG and the client
  • Ability to multi-taskto manage a wide range of projects and relationships
  • High level of drive and enthusiasm with a positive attitude
  • Ability and willingness to keep up to date and develop technical knowledge
  • Inquisitive with attention to detail
  • Practical approach to problem solving
