Job Description

Streamline Search are currently working in tandem with a highly reputable, family-run global freight forwarding business with over 30 years of trading successfully within the market. Our client is now actively seeking a EU Road Freight Operator who is lookingto become a true specialist in EU road freight operations and import customs. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the smooth flow of shipments within the EU, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering excellent customerservice. Your expertise in road freight logistics will be instrumental in leading a team and optimizing operations.(EU Road Freight Operator) - Position Overview

  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Manage end-to-end road freight operations within the UK and Europe, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and carriers to arrange pickups, deliveries, and transportation of goods.
  • Act as the main point of contact for key clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing their logistics needs.
  • Understand clients specific requirements and provide tailored solutions for their road freight shipments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, actively seeking opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services.
  • Evaluate carrier performance based on service quality, on-time delivery, and adherence to contractual terms.
  • Continuously assess the carrier network, seeking new partnerships to optimize capacity and coverage.
  • Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions when necessary to ensure service excellence.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure departmental performance and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements relevant to road freight logistics.
(EU Road Freight Operator) - Position Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder with a specialization in EU road freight operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of EU road transport regulations, compliance requirements, and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of road freight logistics, including route optimization, load planning, and vehicle types.
  • Proficient in using freight management systems and software for shipment tracking and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and client requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of UK customs procedures and compliance.
(EU Road Freight Operator) - Position Remuneration
  • Salary: £22,000.00 - £26,000.00 (Dependant on experience)
  • Working Hours: 09:00 - 17:00
