Nature of the Role: To provide support for all students with special educational needs or disabilities at the college. The ideal candidate with have a significant level of relevant SENCO experience obtained in either school or college. In Summer 2020 these included: Deloitte, Vodafone, KPMG, Goldman Sachs, BT, BBC, Oxford University, Nottingham University, Queen Mary University and many more with over 70% progressing to their first choice destination.We received Good with Outstanding features in our first Ofsted inspection in October 2018.Purpose of the RoleAs SENCO you will fulfill a critical role in ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities at Ada receive the support they need. This will include overseeing the day-to-day operation of Adas SEND policy, supporting the identification of children with special educational needs, coordinating provision for children with SEND, liaising with parents of children with SEND, as well as liaising with other providers, educational psychologists and external agencies. You will also ensure the records of all students with SEND are kept and are up to date.Alongside the Assistant Principal and Principal, you will ensure that all staff follow the colleges SEND policy. This will involve identifying, assessing and planning for needs and developing support programmes to meet those needs and break down any barriers to learning. It may involve calling in outside professionals such as an educational psychologist.Key aspects of the role:
