Job Description

Jefferson Wells are keen to hear from Qualified/Part qualified Accountants in the Plymouth area to join a FTSE 250 listed Aerospace & Defence business on a permanent basis. The business are recruiting a Senior Accountant to join their team, focusing on leadinga small team of finance professionals, whilst covering accounting, reporting, cost & benefit analysis, budgeting & forecasting.This role is based in the Royal Dockyard in the vibrant city of Plymouth, although they are offering plenty of flexibility for those who want to work from home. The business unit offers a variety of complex engineering services, ranging from fleet support,commercial Marine, engineering consultancy, equipment support, cyber security & training delivered through managed infrastructure to a variety of defence & civil customers around the world. What will you be doing

  • Production of budgets & forecasts
  • Analysing management accounts, including variance analysis to budget & previous forecasts
  • Financial consolidation for reporting for internal & external stakeholders
  • Production of financials for contract variation orders
  • Educating non finance stakeholders on financial matters and development of a small finance team
What are we looking for
  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA Qualified/Part qualified
  • Experience in a commercial environment advantageous
  • Knowledge & working experience of accounting systems - SAP preferable
  • Strong Excel & data analysis skills
This role would suit either an experience management accountant looking for a business that can offer long term career progression or alternatively would suit a qualified accountant from a practice background, looking for their first move into industry.
