03177 Motor Claims Counter Fraud Investigator Tonbridge £30,000 paWE WANT YOU TO BE:Able to handle, investigate and conclude motor claims where fraud is suspected.WELL NEED YOU TO BE ABLE TO:Undertake open source and company provided data base searches for the validation of claims identified as requiring such researchConducting extensive and confidential investigations of suspected fraud allegationsDealing with risk referrals to determine whether the referral is a false positive or whether further enhanced validation work is required and if so what is requiredMaintaining the MI data for cases worked upon and gathering intelligence data on the ground.Accurately record savings achievedMaking applications to third parties for information in a method compliant with the Data Protection Act, such as Police Appendix D (b) mandatesWriting discrepancy and reservation of rights lettersWriting repudiation letters where fraud is presentInstructing approved external suppliers where appropriate with accurate and clear guidance and information designed to maximise the suppliers effectivenessTaking a methodical approach to each investigation and working through appropriate validation processes to achieve the desired outcome for claims where fraud can be evidenced i.e. policy voidance or claim repudiation.Managing multiple activities by prioritising important and urgent tasksTo undertake any individual or team task or activity reasonably requested and in line with the company values.WERE LOOKING FOR:Skills requiredThe role requires the ability to "think on your feet" and be adaptive to deal with the different strategies a suspicious claimant may deploy during the interview.Also key is the ability to manage claims under investigation by skilful correspondence, particularly discrepancy letters and dealing with policy holder responses to them in a way that manages fraudulent or suspicious claims to a satisfactory outcome.A flexible approach to combating fraud is required which will include an ability to think laterally, respond to encountered misdirection whilst keeping a clear focus on the overall strategy on a claim and always be alive to potential technical knockoutsfor misrepresentation at the underwriting stage as well as misrepresentation in the claimProfessional, polite assertiveness and determination when faced with claimants who may be trying to deflect or misleadThe appetite and ability to strategize and think tactically through and around obstacles deployed by a suspicious claimant to pursue an investigationAccuracy and attention to detailA methodical approach that does not leave loose endsAbility to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesPC literate with good administrative skills.Ability to take on increased ownership and responsibility when necessary.Drive / motivationA passion for counter fraud workAttention to detail and nuance both verbal and writtenA questioning, analytical mind-setExcellent customer service skillsExperience / knowledgeAt least 5 years previous experience of working in an fraud investigation roleKnowledge of legal proceedings, especially the Fraud Act 2006QualificationsSecondary education with qualifications in Maths and English, or demonstrable ability in numeracy skills & written English.
