Job Description

£25,000 - £28,500 per annumAccounts AssistantTividaleFull TimeAbout our clientOur client is an AIM-listed passenger transport group with operations in various locations across the UK. They operate local bus services and coaches in Birmingham, Preston, Greater Manchester and Greater London. Revenue sources come from a mixture of corporatecontracts, local authority and on bus cash from fare paying customers. They are a fast growing organisation having made multiple acquisitions over recent years and have a publicly announced intention to continue this. The group had revenues in excess of £90mlast financial year.The roleOur client see this role as an opportunity for you to develop into a Finance professional in an innovative and forward thinking company. The person who takes up this Trainee Accounts Assistant role will work within the Finance function which consists ofeleven people. The role reports to the Finance Director and is overseen by the Finance Director. The list below sets out the key tasks that the role will involve, this is not limiting as you will get a broad exposure to the business.Responsibilities and DutiesThis is an exciting new role within the business, and will have a strong focus on: internal systems audit, assisting with weekly / monthly management reporting and business process improvements. You will work alongside the Financial Controller and AccountsPayable Manager to assist them with their tasks as required. In addition, the following lists out some of the month end processes that you may be involved in:

  • Internal review and auditing of stock management and processes
  • Posting supplier invoices and credit notes
  • Posting supplier payments and refunds
  • Reconciling supplier accounts to statements
  • Dealing with invoice and payment queries
  • Putting together weekly payment runs based upon a cash flow budget set by management
  • Keeping the ledgers up to date and allocating payments
  • Supporting the group procurement function
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent ability in the use of Microsoft packages especially Excel
  • Good work ethic and motivation to grow within the business and learn
  • Natural desire to problem solve and get hands on where required
  • Some experience in a similar role preferred
