Operations Manager

Job Description

My client is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager into this newly created role. It is within a business who has big plans and is on a great trajectory, offering plenty of room to grow to people with ambition.Reporting to the owners of the business you will oversee all supply chain and operations of the business. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the end-to-end movement of goods from UK & European suppliers to distribution points and customers mainlyin the UK but with growth into other territories around the world. This will include working with key suppliers, hauliers, and distributers as well as the internal team to oversee the most profitable, smooth flow of goods. The role will oversee a team of fourand you will work closely with the senior management and play an integral role in scaling the business from an operations and supply chain perspective.Responsibilities include: -

• Organising the Demand and Supply Planning for B2B fulfilment
• Overseeing logistics from Europe as well as across the UK
• Updating daily operations around supply chain and logistics. This includes the demand planning, production reports and reconciliation of stock.
• Support with planning and development of internal processes and implementations
• Responsibility for overseeing stock levels and providing robust reports around these.
• Working alongside the Sales & Marketing Director and their teams to understand forecasts, reports, and suggestions for improvement.
• Working with senior management on new systems and implementations
• Ensuring that orders are placed with suppliers in a timely fashion.
• Monthly stock reporting
• Liaising with production facilities and warehouses
• Customer and supplier management
• Travelling to see the co-packers and building the relationships. UK and abroad.
• Finding new co-packers to increase capacity, reduce costs or launch NPD.
• Working closely with Marketing & co-packers to ensure NPD launched run to required time plan.
• Procurement and sourcing of the most cost-effective ingredients & distribution to drive down costs.
• Managing all aspects of Operations to the require company standards achieving Efficiency, Cost Control, Product Quality and Customer Service
• Managing the customer experience to establish the highest level of service with effective two-way communication.
• Minimising overall costs whilst optimising operational performance against established KPIs

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in managing a fast based supply chain/ logistics operation ideally within FMCG.
• Experience of managing and developing existing and new members of staff
• Evidence of embedding a best-in-class safety culture
• A track record of implementing and reviewing continuous improvement plans
• Evidence of exceptional focus on stock management and control with various systems
• Experience of managing multiple projects at one time

• Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems effective.

• Focused, don’t get side tracked and knows the final destination.

This will be an exciting role for someone to really shape and create as their own in a well-established business that has exciting growth plans. The role will offer a base salary of up to £45k + benefits.
