Job Description

Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)Location: DoncasterHours: Full-time 8.30 - 16.00We are recruiting for a thriving primary school located in Doncaster seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced HLTA to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the class teacher and leading small group interventionsin our KS1 and KS2 classes.Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver lessons, ensuring that all pupils are engaged and making progress.
  • Lead small group interventions to support pupils who need additional help with their learning.
  • Provide cover for the class teacher in their absence, delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring that the class is well-managed, and pupils are on task.
  • Monitor pupils progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher.
  • Manage behaviour in the classroom, ensuring that all pupils are safe and following the schools behaviour policy.
Essential Requirements:
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a HLTA in a primary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum and how to effectively support pupils learning.
  • Ability to manage behaviour in the classroom and follow the schools behaviour policy.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience leading interventions to support pupils learning.
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Level 4 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
  • Experience using ICT to support teaching and learning.
