Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join an award-winning and progressive Fuel Storage solutions and services company, working with an established client base comprising multiple blue chip organisationsLocation:Based in Bronte Country, BradfordSalary:Circa £35,000 per annum + Bens;Health Cash Plan, pension, Life Assurance, optional Private MedInsHours:Full-time, 37.5 hours p/w, MondayFriday,8.30am5pm (as required) with on-site parkingAn analytical thinker and ACCA or CIMA qualified/part-qualified, you will be an experienced financial accountant with strong mathematical skills, highly proficient in operating Sage and CRM systems, along with all MS office applications. Reporting to theFinance Manager and supported by the Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for processing general accounting transactions, managing cash flows, budgets and preparing data for reporting on month and year end, facilitating real -time financial analysisand forecasting.Industry experience is essential and some knowledge of engineering and Construction Industry Schemes is desirable, in addition previous work within a SME environment would be advantageous.This is a superb opportunity for an individual who is looking to expand their experience and work within a fast-growing company. Fuel Storage Solutions have been trading for over 20 years, your role will be pivotal in actively supporting and enabling theirbusiness expansion plans combined with protecting their commercial interests.Key responsibilities of the role, although not limited to, will include:

  • Bank reconciliation
  • Credit control and debt management
  • Inputting of nominal ledger journals
  • Preparation of wages for payroll processing
  • Monthly CIS tasks, including identifying VAT reverse charges
  • Preparation of Month and Year enddata analysis and reporting
  • Management and interpretation of budgets
  • Fixed Asset additions, disposals, depreciation
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislative standards.
  • Development and production of financial reporting to include management accounts, budget and forecasting, cashflow, R&D and patent box claims
  • Staff Management and development of a Finance Assistant
  • Use of and maintaining all computer software systems including Sage 50, BrightPay, Synergist (in-house job monitoring software), MS office suite, Breathe HR.
To be successful in the role you will:
  • Be part or fully qualified in ACCA or CIMA
  • Have strong IT skills and Sage experience
  • Have strong commercial acumen
  • Be an analytical and critical thinker
  • Be able to work independently, but as a supportive team player
  • Be able to manage and prioritise your workload, consistently adhering to deadlines
  • Have experience in people management
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • Have excellent communication skills; with the ability to explain complex financial information in simple terms
  • Thrive in working to and managing defined individual and departmental KPIs
