Here at Associated British Ports we are currently recruiting two Terminal Supervisors at our port in Port Talbot.The role of the Terminal Supervisor is to organise labour and resources to deal with customer service provision including vessel unloading/loading, day to day stockpiling of cargo and general housekeeping. You will provide an efficient service in a safe, and flexible manner. This is a hands on role and will require the operation of plant and machinery including fork lift trucks, loading shovels and 360 materials handlers. Assist assistant operations manager/operations supervisor with organisation of labour and resources to provide effective service at Port Talbot lock.

Responsible for identifying and rectifying any housekeeping issues and delivering further improvements to enhance customer service.

Oversee and assist in the stockpiling of cargo for shipment and the loading / discharging of vessels at Port Talbot lock.

To monitor stock levels and report any variables/damages to the assistant operations manager/operations supervisor.

Oversee and assist with the safe and efficient loading / discharging of road vehicles.

Monitoring the general condition of ABP facilities and ensuring the facility is kept in excellent working order.

To safely operate various plant and equipment.

To assist with the loading/discharging of vessels in the South Wales ports as required.

To ensure quality and compliance standards are adhered to.

Skills, experiences, qualifications and competencies

Operate plant and machinery including but not limited to loading shovel, hopper conveyor, 360 materials handler, fork lift trucks.

Good communication skills.

Ability to work on their own and to work in and motivate a team.

Work flexible hours.
