We are seeking a service lead for a newly established role within the children and young people’s occupational therapy service. The role comprises of two key functions; managing the traded arm of our service and leading on occupational therapy input associated with first tier tribunals for education, health and care plans.Our established traded service holds a number of contracts with individuals, schools and local authorities. Our work is in great demand and we require a lead dedicated to growing and promoting the service and expanding our offer. As such they must have excellent interpersonal skills and be skilled in understanding the private/traded market. The successful candidate will be managing a core team and must have significant experience in people management.We work closely with our colleagues in local authorities and contribute to many education, health and care needs assessments. We are dedicating specified capacity to this post becoming the expert lead for our occupational therapy team when working within the first tier tribunal arena. The post holder will be expected to take on cases going to tribunal (where appropriate) and support other colleagues in developing this skill set. The post holder will have excellent working knowledge of the 2015 Code of Practice for Special Educational Needs and Disability.
