English TeacherLocation: Taunton, SomersetJob Type: Full Time, TemporarySalary: £150 to £220 per dayStart date: September 2023 ongoing.We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate English Teacher to join our team and work with Special Educational Needs (SEN) students. As an English Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the academic and personal developmentof students with diverse learning needs in the field of English language and literature.Responsibilities:

• Design and implement tailored lesson plans that align with the English curriculum and cater to the individual needs and abilities of SEN students.
• Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to express themselves creatively and effectively.
• Utilize a variety of instructional methods and resources, such as visual aids, interactive materials, and multisensory techniques, to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Adapt and modify instructional materials, texts, and assessments to suit the specific requirements of SEN students, ensuring equitable access to the curriculum.
• Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents/guardians to identify and address individual student needs, fostering effective communication and a team-based approach to education.
• Incorporate assistive technologies and specialized tools as appropriate to support the learning and participation of SEN students in English-related activities.
• Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of their achievements and challenges.
• Promote a love for literature, language, and effective communication among SEN students, encouraging their creativity, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages active student engagement, participation, and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Stay abreast of developments in English education, inclusive teaching strategies, and SEN practices, integrating them into your teaching approach.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in English Education, English Literature, or a related field (a master’s degree is preferred).
• Teaching certification or licensure in English Education.
• Specialization or additional training in Special Education or experience working with SEN students is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the English curriculum and the ability to adapt it to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with SEN students, recognizing, and celebrating their unique abilities and potential.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies, adaptive teaching strategies, and accommodations for students with diverse needs.
• Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student growth and well-being.
