Job Description

Transport CoordinatorPertemps acre currently recruiting for a Transport Coordinator to join our client based in Tamworth on a 12 month fixed term contract.The purpose of the role is to:

  • Co-ordinate all international multi-mode transport operations and ensure relevant legislation is adhered to
  • Support the development of processes to manage freight movements and demonstrate control over carriers utilised ensuring service quality
  • Create & tender collection requirements to predefined carrier base
  • Coordinate shipment from notice of readiness through to delivery using the inhouse and customer systems
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that you provide the Customer with a best solution through the use of mutually agreed carriers
  • Develop / recommend potential strategic improvements within the Fulfilment area to drive efficiencies, increased output & schedule linearity
  • Preparation of shipping documentation that accompanies the deliverable goods to worldwide destinations
  • Work in strict compliance with all aspects of International Trade Controls as defined by the ITAR, HMRC, DBIS and other regulatory and requirements
  • Liaison with customs agents, freight forwarders and transport companies to arrange the movement and tracking of goods worldwide
  • Checking of work carried out by agents on GEs behalf and resolving any issues arising
  • Letters of Credit and Contract paperwork, preparation and submission
  • Working to devise shipping plan and regular review to ensure on track to target to support OTD and reduction of over dues
  • Attend meetings and report out current status against targets set
  • Liaise and update Customer Service Representatives with Customer Order updates
