Job Description

Great opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant, to join a developing company that makes products for the transport and aerospace industries (part of a global group).37 hours per week, office based, early finish Fridays !Joining a small, dedicated customer service team and reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for the following;

  • Managing the customer experience
  • Managing order book, moving orders in line with materials availability / production
  • Ordering materials
  • Managing material shortages. Moving customers orders if materials not available to meet production
  • Planning production works orders
  • Sending out enquiries for new parts / bench marking prices on the system
  • Issuing order acknowledgements
  • Inputting Sales orders
  • Visiting customers and suppliers
  • Checking Sales orders against customers
Purchasing Assistant Candidate requirements:
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role, purchasing or production planning (essential)
  • Strong communication skills, including negotiating and influencing
  • Microsoft Office (essential)
  • Experience of using ERP systems
  • Ability to plan and organise your own work, in a deadline working environment
Monday to Thursday 8.15 - 4.45, Friday 8.15 - 1.15.5 weeks holiday (+bank hols) and other good benefits.This is an excellent opportunity to develop a role in a purchasing / manufacturing environment, offering a stable working environment and great prospects.
