Confirmed Key Worker Hire During Covid 19 LockdownHave you worked on the Mechanical Maintenance of a plant within a hazardous area siteOur UK pipeline and fuel operations client is now seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the team based at their site in Tamworth. 8-4pm Mon - Friday. 1 week in 3 on call.Negotiable basic up to £29,000 + Allowances + Annual Bonus + Company VanThe roleUndertake safe and efficient mechanical maintenance and inspection of plant and equipment at allocated sites. Provide support for activities as required including pipeline wayleave activities and engineering projects. Act as Operating Authority when required for permit to work activities.Work additional hours, seasonal shifts and week-end as required to fulfil maintenance and inspection duties, respond to breakdowns and to assist with project work.Provide maintenance and inspection services to maintain plant availability targets.Participate in an out-of-hours call-out roster for response to breakdowns, system alarms or other operational requirements on a 7x24hr basis.* Perform or coordinate others completing maintenance and inspection tasks in accordance with schedules interfacing as necessary with the computerised maintenance management system including the upkeep of plant history files.* Supervise colleagues and contractors in safe systems of work, including preparation of risk assessments and work procedures and issuing Mechanical Isolation Certificates and Gas Test Certificates. This includes working with 3rd party site operator systems as required to obtain necessary work permits. This includes deputising as Operating Authority when required.* Act as a focal point for engineering projects having an input into all stages of the project ensuring works are planned and completed with due regard to requirements for safety and operations.* Supervise works in proximity to buried cross country pipelines in accordance with established safe working procedures.* Respond to pipeline emergency incidents, protecting company and client interests at all times.* Participate with company working groups and committees as required.* Provide training and instruction to others as required.* Source suppliers, obtain quotations and raise orders for goods and services required for maintenance and inspection responsibilities in accordance with the company purchasing system.* Undertake work on assigned projects and fulfil other objectives related to operational equipment and sites within parameters and timescales agreed with line manager.Experience required* Essential Experience of maintenance and fault finding on mechanical plant and equipment* A recognised professional qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline to NVQ level 3 or equivalent standard* Numerate, good command of English language both written and oral. - Full driving licence.
