Job Description

Manufacturing Engineering Manager Up to £45k plus benefitsBased in WarwickThe role The Manufacturing Engineering Manager to take the lead in increasing operational efficiency by improving plant and equipment function and reliability. This is a brand new role due to the continued growth of the company.The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be responsible for:

  • Design and build jigs and fixtures to improve the productivity and repeatability of production processes
  • Implement design and maintenance solutions to improve the productivity and repeatability of existing automated equipment
  • Lead problem solving activities in manufacturing
  • Undertake manufacture of sample and low volume components used in production
  • Undertake skilled manufacturing processes required in specialised production
  • Generate and implement ideas to improve design for manufacture
  • Decide on the most appropriate materials for tooling and components
  • Support and understand the current product range of switches and sensors
  • Support design engineering when required through the NPI process
  • Investigate product manufacturing failures or unexpected maintenance problems
  • The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will have:
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a machine shop environment
  • Detailed knowledge of designing, improving and maintaining automation equipment
  • Sound practical capability in the design and manufacture of production jigs and fixtures
  • An in depth understanding of mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • A time served apprentice from a mechanical engineering background ideally with HNC/HND
  • Knowledge of engineering materials and assembly techniques
  • Proven experience with a range of workshop machinery, lathes, millers, drills etc
  • Knowledge of schematics and electrical wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D modelling (AutoCad Inventor) and conversant with Microsoft office tools
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 quality procedures
