Job Description

Supply Teaching Assistant

Hours: 7 - 7.5 hours per day
Location: Gateshead

Reed Education is a provider of choice for supply cover for Teaching Assistants to work within an inclusive and vibrant school community. The successful candidates will support children with a variety of learning and behavioural needs, including those withphysical disabilities and autism. The Teaching assistants must be passionate about child development and show flexibility to work with a range of pupils.Day to day of the Supply Teaching Assistant role:

Assist experienced class teachers in the delivery of lessons.
Support children with additional needs to enable them to access the mainstream curriculum.
Deliver bespoke 1:1 interventions to help meet EHCP targets.
Work as part of a team to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Supply Teaching Assistant role :

Ability to respond to instructions quickly.
Ability to build rapport quickly with pupils.
Good computing, literacy, and numeracy skills.
High expectations of learning and behaviour, with the ability to inspire and motivate children.
Supportive, nurturing, and understanding approach, with high expectations.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated recent strong classroom practice.
Energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of humour.
Experience of supporting learners with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) is desirable.
