Job Description

Search Logistics is recruiting a 3PL Stock Controller to join one of their clients in Birmingham.This Opportunity will best suit an experienced individual who has a background in Ugly Freight, 3PL Understanding and dealing with goods by Ocean, Air or road Freight (multimodal).Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire stock control process for our freight operations, including tracking stock movements, conducting regular audits, and reconciling any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of stock levels, ensuring proper documentation and tracking in our inventory management system.
  • Collaborate closely with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure seamless coordination and accurate stock management from origin to destination.
  • Conduct regular analysis and forecasting of stock requirements to optimise inventory levels, minimising stock-outs and excess inventory situations.
  • Monitor and manage stock ageing and expiration dates, taking proactive measures to mitigate waste and loss.
  • Develop and enforce effective stock control procedures and policies, optimising operations and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve inventory-related issues, such as stock discrepancies, variances, and damaged or missing items.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve stock-related queries and concerns.
  • Generate comprehensive reports on stock levels, performance metrics, and trends, providing actionable insights and recommendations to management.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in stock control within the freight and logistics sector, implementing relevant improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
