Senior Assistant Accountant | Manufacturing | Swadlincote | Hybrid working | £32,000 - £36,000 + Company Car OR Car AllowanceDo you have a passion for Finance and aspire to work for a highly successful and well-known businessMacildowie are pleased to be partnering with a leading manufacturing business based in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, to showcase their latest recruitment campaign within their Finance team.Recruiting for an exciting NEWLY CREATEDfinance role, this role has been created to because of a large contract win for the business in the form of a joint venture. This role will have company-wide exposure as well as engagementwith multi-stakeholders on a day to day basis. The core role is to assist with the finance and commercial administration of the joint venture, and support with the cost management and reporting of the financial performance of the JV.The Finance team plays an active role in leading and supporting the project in achieving its business objectives and targets by working closely with key stakeholders to help drive improvements to operational and financial processes on a day to day basis. This is an opportunity to become part of an ambitious and long-standing organisation.The role will be based between Swadlincote head office and Home - with occasional travel to the manufacturing site (30 mins drive)What is the JobDay to day responsibilities will include, supporting the Project Director and QS by being a fairly visible presence within the business with a variety of stakeholders, from senior managers to the teams of engineers. This role is an outstanding opportunity for advancement in a rapidly growing, global plc (although focusing on this Joint Venture)

  • Ensure effective cash control
  • Process weekly/monthly Expense claims for staff ensuring accurate cost allocation and VAT recording
  • Assist with the weekly timesheet processing to send through to payroll
  • Ensure timely payments to suppliers by weekly BACS processing run preparation
  • Process Sub-Contract Payment Applications provided by QS ensuring accurate CIS recording and manage payments when due
  • Administer the CIS scheme, including monthly and year end submissions. To always ensure CIS/DCR compliance, with any updates and changes completed by the recommended dates
  • Assist with cost verification including liaison with client auditors as required
  • Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times
  • Assist in maintaining a tidy and professional working environment at all times
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as and when required
Who are youWe are supporting the business to recruit in this role based on technical ability, behaviour and personality traits.Being a part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA), ideally with experience working within construction or manufacturing (preferably within a PLC environment), strong Excel skills and the ability to work to strict reporting deadlines are all ideal criteria.
