Job Description

Macildowie are actively seeking a Quality Engineer for a well established company based in Swadlincote.This is a full time permanent position looking to start as soon as possible.Salary is based £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience.Working hours:7:45-8:15 to 16:30-17:00 Monday-Thursday7:45-8:15 to 12:30-13:00 FridayWorking from the office however due to current restrictions there are opportunities to work remotely, flexible whilst guidelines in place.The ideal candidate is someone who has an aerospace or automotive background, team player, has dealt with NPI (new product implementation) APQP (Advanced quality product planning) and someone who is able to review / audit processes and investigate into process and put together capability strategys. Must have a good eye for detail, dealt with material specifications / technical drawings.Will be reporting into the Senior Quality Engineer, working in a team of X3 quality engineers.Key Responsibilities and Duties: Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Active roles in New Product Introduction process for Advanced Product Quality Planning activities ensure product conformity is adequately planned and implemented.
  • Non-conformance investigation and reporting using Quality tools such as Ishikawa, Eight Discipline and 5 Whys.
  • Maintain and update Control Plans, PFMEA and Inspection Plans.
  • Host internal, customer and 3rd party audits and source inspections
  • Support production, engineering, sales, suppliers and Customers in the development of quality standards to fulfil both Company and Customer requirements.
  • Monitor changes in customer specifications ensuring process owners implement change when required
  • Conduct Internal Audits basis in accordance with the Business Unit audit schedule
  • Representing the Quality function on-site and at the customer facilities
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to all system requirements including AS9100 Health & Safety, Risk Assessments, Environmental, and ISO: 14001, and house-keeping.
    • Knowledge / Experience
  • Working Experience in APQP / PPAP / AS9145 methodology with PFMEAs and associated tools
  • Working Experience of hands-on Quality Engineering techniques and tools (8Ds, RCA, Auditing)
  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, NADCAP & key Aerospace customers requirements (i.e.: Airbus, Boeing, Rolls Royce)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • HNC Engineering or relevant experience
