Job Description

Materials Engineer required. My client is an international leader in manufacturing polymer sealing solutions to a range industries. They are now looking to expand their Elastomer manufacturing team with an experienced Materials Engineer/ Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Elastomer / Composite Manufacturing & Testing, will have previous Process experience, will be familiar with ISO:14001 and AS9100 and will based locally to Swadlincote.Materials Engineer Position Overview

  • Materials and processing support for the New Business Team
  • Developing and implementing new materials and their associated Intellectual Property (IP) where appropriate
  • Co-ordination of materials discussions with the supply chain & procurement
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of the materials library
  • Keep abreast of new materials test requirements and equipment to ensure materials evaluations are undertaken in accordance with required standards.
  • Formulation of elastomeric compounds
  • Support and advice on the operation of rubber process equipment for development projects
  • Supporting, arranging and carrying out materials testing
  • Ensure compliance to all system requirements, including AS9100, Health & Safety, ISO14001, 5S, etc
Materials Engineer Position Requirements
  • Degree qualified, ideally in Engineering materials
  • Experienced in the formulation and processing of elastomers
  • Composite manufacturing experience highly beneficial
  • Any staff training and support experience would be advantageous
  • Able to support process trials
  • Based within a commutable distance of Swadlincote
Materials Engineer Position Remuneration
  • Salary £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
  • Full time Monday to Friday - Early finish on Fridays
  • 32 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Pension
