Job Description

Management Accountant| Swadlincote, Derbyshire | (Hybrid Working) | £40,000 - £50,000Company Overview: My client is a leading global supplier of precision seals and gaskets, serving a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, and industrial equipment. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Management Accountantto join their finance team in Swadlincote.Job Summary: As a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to drive effective decision-making within the organization. This role offers a competitive salary range of £40,000-£50,000per annum, a unique half-day working on Fridays, and a hybrid working policy with 2 days in the office (though the finance culture is predominantly office-based).Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, budget vs. actuals, and commentary.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting, collaborating with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
  3. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights, highlighting risks and opportunities to senior management.
  4. Cost Control: Monitor and control costs across various departments, identifying areas for potential savings and efficiency improvements.
  5. Month-End Closing: Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing processes, including reconciliations and accruals.
  6. Cash Flow Management: Contribute to cash flow forecasting and management, optimizing cash utilization.
  7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, assisting with audits as needed.
  8. Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as required, offering financial expertise and analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in management accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with financial software and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
