We believe a positive future is possible- and we can show its happening, here and now.Were now looking for a Finance Officer to join our team on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week.The Benefits- Salary of £24,918 to £26,584 per annum (pro rata)- Civil Service pension scheme- 30 days annual leave and 10.5 days public and privilege holidays (pro rata for part time staff)- End of year performance awards- Hybrid working arrangement and flexible hours- Cycle to Work Scheme - typical savings on a bike can be up to 42%- Gym discounts- Employee Assistance Programme - free and confidential 24/7 telephone adviceThis is a fantastic opportunity for you to advance your career with our ground-breaking environmental organisation.Within a supportive, welcoming environment, you will have the chance to build upon your skillset, benefiting from the experience and knowledge of our team, and help us continue delivery of the National Forest.Whats more, we offer a great range of benefits including hybrid working to support a strong work/life balance, making this the perfect role for you.The RoleAs a Finance Officer, you will provide finance support and expertise to both our management and statutory accounts.Overseeing a wide range of financial activities, you will be involved in processing sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations and project accounts reports.You will assist in the preparation of financial reports for committee and board meetings, provide support for internal auditing work and help us improve our processes.Additionally, you will support the Corporate Services Team in monthly planning, budgetary and reporting cycles.About YouTo be considered as a Finance Officer, you will need:- At least two years relevant experience of working in a finance/accounting role- An AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting - Experience of assisting with the preparation of financial reports- Demonstrable experience of performing a wide range of finance functions- An understanding of the importance of financial controls, regulations and procedures- A working knowledge of VAT- Proficient SAGE accounting software skills- Strong IT skills, specifically in developing and maintaining Microsoft Excel spreadsheets- At a minimum, GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or aboveKnowledge and experience of Charity SORP would be advantageous to your application, as would an understanding of the National Forest.Other organisations may call this role Deputy Finance Officer, Financial Officer, Accounts Officer, Accountancy Officer, Account Technician, Account Administrator, Finance Assistant, Finance Administrator, or Accounts Assistant.Webrecruit and NFC are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
