Job Description

Finance Manager (Manufacturing) / Swadlincote / £45000 per annumAs Finance Manager you will report directly to the Head of Operations in Swadlincote. Your main objective will be to provide support to our clients site management in developing and analysing business plans, forecasts, and cost-saving opportunities.You will play a crucial role in strategic decision-making, financial analysis, and overall financial support for special projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning and forecasting, budget management, costing activities, and inventory valuation.By closely partnering with various stakeholders, you will contribute to driving process improvements and cost efficiencies. This is an exciting opportunity to challenge yourself, exceed customer needs, and deliver value in a collaborative and purpose-drivenenvironment.Responsibilities:

  • Provide business support by assisting our clients site management in the development and analysis of business plans, forecasts, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Perform ad-hoc and proactive analysis of monthly KPIs, providing interpretive and predictive information to support decision-making.
  • Review site cost analysis, identify variances against budget and outlook, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in forecasting and mid-to-long-term planning for the factory.
  • Manage annual and periodic costing activities, including detailed product costing analysis and support for evaluating product costs.
  • Coordinate the annual budget process for the site and oversee monthly inventory valuation.
  • Act as a business partner, working closely with site engineers, local management, regional controllers, and finance teams to evaluate capital proposals and drive process and cost improvements.
  • Attend site operations meetings, staying informed of site activities and providing finance support where required.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar controlling qualification.
  • 2+ years of experience in controlling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of costing processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong financial background, including budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, controlling, and accounting.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a complex, matrixed organisation.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with SAP, JEDOX, and TABLEAU is appreciated.
