Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Navigator to join a large housing association based in Swadlincote. The role will involve working 35 hours per week between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. This will be on a fixed term contract starting assoon as possible until May 2024. The role will involve working flexibly across South Derbyshire to provide support within temporary dispersed refuge accommodation and floating support with the community.As a Domestic Abuse Navigator, you will be delivering person-centred support to individuals and families, assisting them with re-building their lives and minimising the risk of future harm following experiences of domestic abuse.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate referrals, assessments and support for individuals and families.
  • Improve the health, wellbeing and quality of life of clients accessing the service.
  • Conducting CAADA/DASH risk assessments to assess current risk and maintain detailed risk management plans.
  • Deliver training and support to relevant partners such as The Freedom Programme.
  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge of Local Strategies, processed and resources in relation to issues such as homelessness, domestic abuse and substance misuse.
  • Provide targeted outreach in rural communities and identify unmet needs and gaps in provision.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of legislation in relation to domestic abuse and housing.
  • Qualification as a Freedom programme facilitator (desirable).
  • Ability to travel throughout South Derbyshire.
  • Proficient in using IT case management packages.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in accordance with GDPR.
