Job Description

Class 2 DriverCompetitive salarySwadlincote DE11 0BBFull TimeWe currently have C category driver (Class 2) vacancies for our Swadlincote site within our ClickLink operation. This role requires drivers to complete scheduled deliveries and collections within a given timeframe to achieve customer requirements and expectations.Drivers must hold a full driving licence with C category entitlement. Full flexibility of hours on varying shift start times is required which includes weekends and bank holidays.The main purpose of the role is:

  • Make deliveries on customer premises.
  • Ensure the full signatures and printed names are obtained on hand held terminal devices.
  • Ensure the POD process is adhered to (where appropriate)
  • Return any undelivered items or returns from stores to the depot.
  • Complete daily walk-round vehicle checks as required
  • Ensure that manifests and other associated paperwork are completed in full
  • Report defects on vehicles to the transport team as required.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle
  • To carry out duties as instructed by your First Line Manager / Supervisor
  • To be vigilant at all times and highlight any concerns either on the road or at customer premises to the transport team.
  • To make sure that the uniform which is provided is worn and kept in good order.
  • To undertake all other tasks as reasonably requested by management.
  • To ensure Clipper operational and H&S procedures and policies are adhered to at all times
  • To demonstrate a working knowledge of the Working Time Directive, EU road transport legislation and any associated tachograph legislation and working practices.
Person SpecificationReporting to the Transport First Line managers / Supervisors you will have the following skills and abilities
  • Excellent practical driving skills and road safety awareness
  • Ability to work alone with high degree of concentration
  • Ability to complete driver worksheets and hours of work
  • Punctuality, flexibility and pro-activity are all essential requirements to maintain productivity and to achieve customer standards
  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake different tasks, show creativity and team work.
  • Attention to detail and maintaining a right first time culture
  • Desire to achieve the standards expected by our customers and provide an excellent value added service.
  • Smart, professional appearance that reflects customer service standards
