Job Description

CAD TechnicianSwadlincote£21,000Benefits - Bonus Scheme, Share Scheme, Pension, Life Assurance, 33 Days HolidayDays (Monday - Friday)***This role is an 8-month fixed term contract going to a permanent position***Our client, a market leader in the design and manufacturer of building foundations, has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically minded CAD Technician. With continued high levels of research and development, the company is consistently at the forefront of new technology and its equipment is highly regarded within the industry. You will be involved in the full design process of new projects and instrumental in all aspects of new product development. Working on a variety of exciting new design assignments this role offers an unrivalled chance for product variation and new technology design. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate looking for a technically challenging role within a globally recognised organisation.Role & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out design appraisals of projects in relation to the design brief to obtain all information required to complete the foundation design processes.
  • Carry out administrative duties for design projects: Project booking, QA documents, recording and storing all electronic correspondence and documents.
  • Produce AutoCAD drawings, calculations, and production schedules for projects. Carry out checking of the above produced by other members of the department.
  • Organising and issuing of drawings, calculations, and schedules to all relevant parties.
  • Keeping the Project Engineer informed of progress on all design work undertaken and immediately report any problems should they arise.
  • With priority to awarded projects in the design process so their timescales are not detrimentally affected, assist as required with providing estimate layouts and quantities for projects being tendered by the Regional Business Units.
  • Other duties relevant to the job role as directed by the Project Engineers and Design Manager.
    • · Complete a weekly detailed time sheet.Required Skills & Experience:
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering related subject
  • Graduate or Time Served
  • AutoCAD 2D/3D
  • Good communication skills
  • Motivated to work on industry leading equipment
