Job Description

Location: MoiraWorking Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to FridayStart Date: September 2024Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant primary school in Moira. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supportingchildren with autism and helping them thrive in an educational setting.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with autism.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Work closely with teachers to adapt classroom materials and activities to meet the needs of students with autism.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on students progress and behavior.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the well-being and academic progress of students.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience working with children with autism, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and associated strategies for support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in special education or teaching assistance (desirable but not essential).
