Job Description

Year 2 1:1 Support Assistant LTF RecruitmentOur visionHere at LTF we are here to support you through your experience and aid a smooth transition into your new role. We offer access to a wide rangeof FREE CPD courses to aid progression and an easy to use timesheet portal.The roleWe are recruiting for a 1:1 Support Assistant for a child in Year 2 at a Primary School based in the DE11 - Swadlincote area. We are looking for an experienced member of staff who has experience dealing with ASD, ADHD and Challenging behaviour. The schoolare in need of someone who is enthusiastic, well organised and caring with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be joining a welcoming and supportive team of support staff in a small Primary School which is part of a large trust. Thesuccessful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the designated child is supervised at all times and promoting engagement with the curriculum.Key responsibilities

  • Working 1:1 supporting with classwork in core subjects including Literacy, Numeracy and Phonics
  • Engaging assigned pupil and encouraging interaction with lessons and the curriculum
  • Liaising with class teachers to closely monitor the progress of your assigned child
  • Working closely with SENDCo to plan and implement tailored intervention strategies and making accurate records of their effectiveness
  • Supervising your assigned child during their breaks
  • Implementing your assigned childs physical literacy programme daily
  • Taking the child away from the classroom during difficult situations to allow for calming down

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience working within a school environment is desirable
