About the rolePackaging Open Innovation Manager applies and continually improves the R&D packaging Open Innovation capabilities in order to enable new-to-Haleon, new-to-category / new-to industry packaging building blocks to be identified, anticipated and pre-developed.These building blocks in turn underpin our ability to hit our 2030 sustainable packaging goals and growth targets.This role focusses on the Scout-Attract-Evaluate-Map-Select-Connect cycle for emerging technologies and solutions with an H2 H3 horizon vs clearly defined strategic priority areas.The final objective is the formal integration of an identified solution (from a tightly managed front end funnel) into an approved TPR project or directly into the scope of a Category or BU innovation project via a PMB or equivalent.Fosters strong collaboration between R&D Packaging and their counterpart(s) in the Packaging procurement team in order to ensure shared priorities and efficient delivery of objectives.An ability to influence and drive results through partner R&D packaging teams. Managing seamless partnership with the broader FHS&T and R&D organization, Innovation, Design, Legal & IP, Sustainability, QSC.An experienced SME capable of engaging at R&D packaging leadership level. Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy.Role Responsibilities

• Building, delivering and continually improving the Open Innovation for R&D packaging.
• Apply and continually improve a set of tools to enable to scout-attract, evaluate-map, select-connect vs strategic priority areas
• Apply and improve ‘the Haleon way’ for Front End packaging Open Innovation (Operating Model, Funnel, M-Levels, Active Library, Impact KPIs)
• drive awareness of connection to and contribution to the Active Library
• drive presence and influence of Haleon R&D Packaging in order to proactively attract technology and solution providers
• manage a high value funnel of strongly relevant emerging technologies and solutions, balanced in terms of maturity levels and H2H3 impact timing.
• drive the pace of progress of the identified solutions through the defined maturity levels and decision gates up to landing
• The work product within the funnel is readily accessible and searchable through a curated digitally enabled Active Library
• Ecosystem Management for selected strategic priorities, provide an ecosystem mapping of who is working with whom and associated recommendations
• Connects co-produce with rdpk high impact business Connects applying support materials available directly from the Active Library
• Landing rate is based on the formal integration of the solution into an approved TPR project or directly into the scope of a Category or BU innovation project via a PMB or equivalent.

Why youBasic Qualifications:·Bachelor of Science degree·7+ Years experience in FMCG Packaging Development (Consumer or OTC preferred) including large complex projects. Preferably a strong track record in supplier leveraged innovation and portfolio management·Capable to apply high-end digital search techniques and couple with analytical skills·Excellent communication and supplier relationship management skills up to leadership level·Capable to operate highly autonomously with a high level of independent judgement on complex multi-dimensional challenges or complex organisational opportunities·Capable to communicate fluently on brand, consumer experience, sustainability (ecodesign, trusted materials, inclusivity), IP, sourcing, finance, operations and supply chain·Ability to dynamise, integrate and influence with business acumen across BU R&D teams & partner functions to drive results·Is regarded as an expert practitioner in the application of Open InnovationPreferred Qualifications:
