Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking and empathetic Qualified Occupational Therapists to join this evolving, friendly and dynamic team at Surrey County Council.You will join a supportive, skilled and creative team with a strong morale; believing in servant leadership to enable you to become the best you can be. Clients may be elderly and frail, experience a learning disability, physical or sensory impairment, or have mentalill health. This diverse role will facilitate your development and equip you with a large range of skills to enable you to undertake frontline holistic occupational therapy practice within a social care setting. You will have the opportunity to put into practicethe legislation underpinning, and build your confidence and professional experience of specialist equipment, major adaptations and moving and handling risk assessments and intervention, with the aim of supporting and empowering our clients to live meaningfullives within the community.You would be part of a multi skilled team which includes: Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Assistant Social Care Practitioners. You will work closely with your team members, as well as with other organisations and agencies to provide anintegrated service in order to support vulnerable adults and their carers in a community-based setting. This community-based role requires you to visit clients in their homes, as well as other settings such as residential care and nursing homes.We would love to hear from and your:-

  • Experience of working within a social care or community focused multi-disciplinary setting that provides care, support and advice to meet peoples long term needs.
  • Ability to complete person centred and proportionate OT assessments including moving and handling risk assessments.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical conditions and the likely impact on the individual and be able to demonstrable knowledge of the impact of long term disability on the individual, carer and family.
  • Continuing professional development. Applicants must have and maintain current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and adhere to the HCPC standards for conduct, performance and ethics.
