Job Description

The Development Engineer performs a vital role in development projects to ensure that all new products perform and function to the agreed standard within their environment. The Development Engineer is responsible for designing and developing products and systems, inline with the business Product Roadmap, ensuring that they meet every aspect of the Market/Product Requirements Document (MRD/PRD).Client DetailsMy client is a successful and growing design and manufacturing business in Surrey.DescriptionThe Development Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Managing the development and customising of product system with development partners including both specification and validation.
  • Managing the integration of the product line.
  • Being the VOE for all topics electrical regarding the product line.
  • Prototyping and testing concepts and ideas for further development.
  • Be the first line of contact to Suppliers, Customers, Sub-Contractors and other members within the business.
  • Travel to Suppliers/Customers should there be a problem or deadline which requires an immediate solution.
  • Profile
  • Development Engineering in similar environment.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an engineering field or similar.
  • Able to write concise functional requirements documents for both hardware and software systems.
  • Able to write concise test and validation protocols.
  • Problem solving skills and able to break complex problems down, evaluate possible solutions within tight deadlines and progress the most feasible option.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and embedded software.
  • Able to ensure that specifications are realised (within timescales and budget) and requirements are fulfilled.
  • Able to use test equipment including oscilloscope, MODBUS analysers, harmonics analysers etc.
  • Knowledge of designing control systems which meet the following worldwide approval standards: UL, CE, NSF, CDRH & GS.
