Job Description

Reed Engineering and Procurement are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic company to recruit for the role of Supplier Development Engineer.This role is perfect for someone who has all round experience of Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.Someone who loves to work alongside suppliers and has experience of improving a supply chain.

  • 7.45am-4pm / 7.45am-2pm (Fri)

The Role:-
  • This role is working closely with suppliers to support and improve them
  • Leading on any supplier in crisis that is causing stress to the business
  • Responsible for Supplier Improvement and Development activities
  • A hands on role where you will identify and drive projects to improve delivery, quality and cost
  • Ensuring the day-to-day project execution and coordination at the supplier
  • Conduct initial supplier engagement
  • Utilises expertise and a wide range of tools to identify and lead improvement actions
The Person:-
  • Application of best practise experience within manufacturing including experience working with suppliers
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Technically proficient
  • A natural problem solver with experience of applying 8D process or other structured problem solving techniques in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Ability to use statistical and problem-solving tools
  • Knowledge in manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO/TS:16949), methods and practises including APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, and PPAP
  • Lead auditor qualification preferred
