An experienced Health & Safety & Environmental Co-ordinator is sought by a world leader tier 1 automotive manufacturer to join their team based in Sunderland reporting to the Plant HR Manager.The Role:• Organise and co-ordinate the environmental, health & safety and fire protection activity of the company in line with all relevant local legislation and client requirements.• Ensure that risk assessments, inspections and audits are fully compliant with current legislation and corporate requirements, reporting this information to the business with any necessary resolutions or improvements that are required.• Support the investigation of all accidents, near misses, illnesses, and emergency responses, and ensure that corrective, preventive actions and controls are implemented, reporting out externally as required. • Maintain the ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001 certifications of the site liaising with the certification body and leading audits• Cooperate with the Plant HR Manager and cross functional teams to define, track and achieve annual HSE Objectives and Targets.• In line with corporate requirements regularly track and report HSE-related KPIs and other performance indicators.• Keep the list of legal requirements updated and inform the management team about significant changes that might have an impact on the Plant in a timely manner.• Working closely with all Department Managers, leading Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.• Delivering training sessions when required which will be cascaded throughout the workforce.• Liaise with insurers and solicitors for all company liability claims keeping central records up to date.• CI tasks, mainly focused on compliance reporting, will be defined and included once the HSE prime focus is in a stable state. • Any other reasonable tasks requested by Plant HR ManagerThe successful Health & Safety & Environmental Co-ordinator will demonstrate:• Previous experience in a HSE role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally Automotive• Between 2 to 5 years experience in HSE• Excellent Microsoft experience - Word, Excel and PowerPoint• Professional membership of IOSH/IEMA/CQI would highly beneficial• A self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Conscientious, methodical and able to work to your own initiative. • Must be a complete finisher.• Ability to deliver under pressure, be enthusiastic and responsible. • Task orientated with the ability to build effective relationships, you will adopt a proactive approach to supporting the HSE Function.Candidate Qualifications:• NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum• NEBOSH Diploma [preferred]• IMEA Certificate desirable• Member of IOSH desirable• Professional membership of IOSH/IEMA/CQI would highly beneficial• Health & Safety, Environmental, Chemical, Manufacturing related degree or a related subject is desirable but not essentialHealth & Safety & Environmental Co-ordinatorSunderland, Tyne & WearExcellent salary + benefits Required skills
