Job Description

Working within the Global Marine and Navy business unit you will estimate the design supply and commissioning of new fire detection and protection systems, system upgrades and modifications for the marine market. Your client portfolio will cover UK and internationalnavies but also commercial vessels such as cargo ships, tankers, ferries, and yachts.What we offer

How you will do it
  • Estimating and preparing proposals for fire alarm and fire suppression systems.
  • Perform bid layouts (FDS GA Layout in AutoCAD format) and complete subsequent material takeoffs.
  • Work directly with the sales team and produce timely and accurate estimates according to fixed bid dates and schedules.
  • Other responsibilities include evaluating fire systems to determine their functionality, efficiency, and need for repair or retrofit replacement.
  • Design new fire alarm systems or updating existing ones based on IMO and applicable Marine class requirements LRS, DNV-GL, BV,
  • Assist sales with developing project estimate schedules for new ship construction, model, and design build projects.
  • Liaise directly with the customer to attain any necessary information or clarifications required for quoting purposes.
What we look forEssential
  • Degree in Electrical engineering or suitable experience.
  • BS5839 Fire Detection and BS6266 Fire Protection qualifications.
  • Fire Detection equipment application knowledge preferably ADT MX
  • Proficient with AutoCAD.
  • Capable of working independently and strict timescales to meet customers requirement.
Preferred
  • Fire Detection system commissioning experience
  • SOLAS, MED, and marine class regulations knowledge
  • MoD Defstans & Marine/Naval background.
