Job Description

Reed Accountancy and Finance are proud to be working with a specialist leading manufacturing company in the Suffolk area seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their accounts team on a 12 Month Maternity Cover.As part of a small but dedicated team, the experienced Payroll Administrator will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure all related tasks are effectively completed which will in turn contribute towards the efficiency of this well-established firm.The experienced Payroll Administrator position itself entails the following in summary:The Role in Summary

  • Process payroll on weekly basis for circa 500 staff
  • Process payroll on monthly basis for circa 200 staff across two companies
  • Resolve pay queries from employees
  • Processing starters and leavers, issuing P45s
  • HMRC RTI Submissions, including year end returns and P60s
  • Issue of payslips via online services and paper
  • Completion of month end payroll journals for processing
  • Analysis of hours worked by direct labour
  • Maintain monthly reconciliations of payroll control accounts
  • Pension submissions
  • P11d completion for relevant staff
  • Ad-Hoc assistance to others in the finance team as/if/when required
Experience and Skills Required
  • Minimum 12 months payroll experience (more is desirable)
  • Experience in running multiple payroll cycles
  • Proven understanding of current payroll legislation
  • Ability to work to a tight weekly payroll deadline
  • Experience using Sage 200 and Sage Payroll
  • Working knowledge of income tax
  • High attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels with employees, HMRC, Auditors etc.
  • Able to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
  • Resilient with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent organisation skills
Hours, Salary and Benefits Offered
  • Monday to Friday, 8.30am5pm (with a 1-hour lunch), 37.5 hours per week
  • c£28,000 to £31,000 per annum
  • Sickness entitlement after successful completion of 3-month probation period
