Job Description

Job recruiting forAccounts AssistantReporting toFinance DirectorLocationHead office located in Suffolk. This is an office-based role.OverviewA group of companies which have been formed for nearly 50 years, with additional companies outside of the group. All companies are of similar structure, in real estate. The turnover varies according to the company, as a group it is in excess of a few millionpounds income including the companies outside the group. You will work in a small team reporting directly to the Finance Director, who has been at the group for many years.Aim of the RoleThe aim of the role is to support the Finance Director in processing the day-to-day accounting records, e.g. banking entries including bank reconciliation, feeding into the monthly accounts. This role will also be to assist the business in updating the processesto drive the business forward into a new era through information technology.Essential Skills

  • Experience in an office environment, preferably SME
  • Good with numbers and willingness to learn new skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT literacy and Excel skills
  • Proficient in data entry and record keeping including pre-payments and accruals
  • Ideally, experience in a small team (you will be the main accounts function)
  • Purchase and sales ledger experience, as well as inter-company postings
  • A pro-active attitude with exceptional teamwork and able to work alone
Additional Information- You must have the right to work in the UK to be considered for this role- Education to a higher-level desirable- References will be required at the end of the recruitment process- Job Type: Full or part-time (hours to be discussed at interview)- Salary to be discussed at interview- Monday to Friday office hoursExperience required:
  • Accounting: 10 years experience (preferred)
  • Working in a small team, preferably SME property business
  • Experience with accounting software (ideally Sage)
  • Preparation and population of spreadsheets
