Job Description

Development Chemist - Suffolk - PermanentSalary:Negotiable, dependant on experienceBenefits:25 days holiday plus bank holidays, bonus, enhanced pension (employer contributes 7%)Working hours:MondayFriday, 7:30 to 16:30 or8:30 to 17:30Reed Scientific is recruiting for a Development Chemist for our client based in Suffolk. In this role you would undertake development projects involving distillations and will aid in the scale up process, taking products to production.Responsibilities

  • To undertake Documentation, Maintenance and tasks as directed by the Director of Operations;
  • Plan, overseeand carry outdistillationsand lab / research scale manufacture of chemicals.
  • To assist in any problem solving and trouble shooting,
  • Be responsible for and run development projects, assisting the R&D team in thescale up to production scale.
  • Support the Director of Operations inrunningthe distillation room.
  • Adhere to the QC system, Policies, SOPS and work instructions and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Use the ERP system to enter results and maintain the record base.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer expectations are met.
Qualifications, experience, and skills required.
  • A degree in Chemistry or a related subject, or relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of analytical techniques and operation of GC, HPLC, FITR, KF and titrations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience of working within Chemical or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing industries is preferred.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving in a chemical productionR&D laboratory would be a great advantage.
  • The ability to work to strict and short deadlines is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required as you will work in a small team.
