Job Description

Tradewind are currently working with a school in the Stourbridge area recruiting for a competent Cleaner or Caretaker to take on both Cleaning and Caretaking duties around the School and its grounds.The school is rated "Good" by OFSTED which is mirrored by the children feeling happy and safe when they are in the school. The pupils display excellent behaviour, and they show respect for their peers and the staff. Leadership within the school is outstanding,they have a vision for the pupils to reach their full potential and support staff to achieve their career goals with continued professional development.The ideal candidate will need to carry out caretaking and cleaning duties across the school. Your main responsibilities will include:Caretaking:

  • Conduct repairs to maintain the schools infrastructure integrity.
  • Thoroughly examine premises for potential health and safety hazards in accordance with risk assessments.
  • Complete daily cleaning tasks with precision, ensuring proper waste disposal.
  • Efficiently manage the storage and maintenance of vital tools.
  • Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to ensure peak performance.
  • Prioritise student well-being by remaining alert to safeguarding issues.
  • Embrace personal growth through proactive participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
Cleaning:
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Wipe down surfaces and make sure everything looks clean.
  • Empty bins and make sure rubbish is taken out.
  • Clean and sanitise bathrooms regularly.
  • Assist in setting up and cleaning after school events.
  • Follow safety rules and report anything broken or unsafe.
  • Be careful when handling cleaning products and chemicals, closely adhering to the COSHH (The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations and guidelines.
