Job Description

Gleeson Recruitment Group are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to support the Transactional Finance Team based near Stourbridge.Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and entering data into the accounting system.
  • Prepare and issue payments to vendors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payment terms.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, posting customer payments, and managing collections.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Other Duties:
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost management
  • Reporting of expenditure - agreement with the Financial Accountant
  • Working closely with the Management admin team to manage mitigation costs
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required.
Person Specification
  • Excellent Communication
  • Highly numerate and analytical with the ability to gather, manipulate and present large quantities of data effectively.
  • "Can do" approach with strong initiative and drive.
  • Willingness to challenge and critically analyse information.
  • Proficient in Excel with ability to do VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, pivot tables with ease.
Qualifications / Training
  • Studying AAT/Interested in studying towards finance qualification.
