Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee / Semi-Skilled Fitters for our client based in Stocksbridge.The main aspect of the role will be learning to manufacture the company’s products to a good level of quality, this includes, shelling and panelling, wiring, internal fit out, etc.The specific duties are:

  1. Learning to complete the specific Manufacture jobs of the Small Department across all Product ranges in the Small Department, including fitting of fibreglass
  2. Looking after personal issued tools
  3. Looking after the areas communal tools
  4. Communicate Stock Shortages to area Supervisor
  5. Reporting faults found to Supervisor
  6. Understanding the Manufacture process and how they fit into it
  7. Checking and signing off of their own work in line with the Works Operation lists/checklists
  8. Completing any reworks found on the checklist at 1st check and release check
  9. Complying with all Company Health and Safety Procedures and looking after PPE
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to work quickly and efficiently in a physical role and will be keen and eager to learn. You will also be comfortable working with a wide array of tools.Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage, but any candidate with transferable skills from a similar manufacturing role would be considered.The hours of work will be 7:30am-5pm Mon-Thurs and 7:30am-12:30pm Fri; 39.75 hours per week.The starting rate is £9.10 per hour, however once permanent with the company you will receive a grading bonus which means the more areas you are trained in and the more skills you have, the more you will get paid.This is a temp to perm position.
