Marchington Stone has an exciting new opportunity for a Transport Planner to join their team.Location: High Lane, StockportSalary: Competitive + BenefitsHours: 8.00am-6.00pm, Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings (8-10am) on rotation.Transport Planner – About Us:Marchington Stone is a progressive family-owned business and a major supplier of quarried & recycled aggregates to the North West construction industry.Established in 1970, we supply a wide range of Concrete Aggregates, Roadstone, Sand, Gravel and Bagged materials to a varied client base across the region including Readymix and Precast Concrete, Civil Engineering, Housebuilders and Builders Merchants.Transport Planner - Key Duties include:- Route planning and scheduling of tipper transport from quarries and depots across the region- Planning a day’s work for each haulier to maximise their earnings and minimise empty running between jobs, whilst ensuring the product reaches the customer at the required time- Entering Customer orders into our SAP system accurately to build up a report from which we organise and plan the transport- Forwarding accurate schedules of work to hauliers by telephone and email for the following day- Supporting other members of the same team to ensure we reach our daily, weekly and monthly goalsTransport Planner – Key Skills & Requirements:- Excellent communication skills are essential- Provide updates on existing orders to Customers- Order materials from suppliers- Keep in contact with our hauliers throughout the day to ensure things run smoothly- An excellent telephone manner, enthusiasm and be willing to go the extra mile- Confidence using IT, particularly Microsoft Office packages- A great work ethic and be a team player- The ability to deliver 1st class customer serviceExperience within the industry and a good geographical knowledge of the North West will be advantageous, but not essential as all training will be provided.If you’d like to be part of a winning team, in an excellent environment with an attractive salary and benefits package, we’d like to hear from you.To submit your CV for this Transport Planner opportunity, please click ‘Apply’ now.
