Job Description

Job Title: Health Improvement Lead - Women’s Health and PartnershipsLocation: Farnham House, Stevenage with hybrid workingSalary Range: £48,923 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £54,145 per annumHours: 37 per weekContract: Fixed term for 2 yearsDiversity: We are an inclusive employer and value a diverse workforceJob Duties:This is an exciting opportunity to work across organisations with the aim of improving the health of Hertfordshire residents. You will be based with the Council but work closely with the Integrated care board, primary, community and secondary care.The role will include taking forward the recommendations of the national Women’s health strategy and continuing the established work around Long Acting Reversible contraception (LARC).The main purpose of the role is to:

  • Work closely with the ICB and other stakeholders to establish a Women’s Health Working group; interpret national policy and enact locally
  • Work with HCC colleagues within the JSNA team, ICB Business Intelligence colleagues and others to collate a rounded assessment of women’s health within Hertfordshire
  • Ensure access to LARC is maintained and improved by working with relevant services and commissioners; chair the LARC task and finish group
  • Arrange training sessions for clinical colleagues
  • Disseminate findings to senior managers, commissioners, and stakeholders through verbal presentations, as required
Whilst women’s health is the focus of the role, the post holder may be required to work on other partnership projects so they will need a flexible attitude and be able to manage their time appropriately.Qualifications:Essential
  • Degree or master’s in health or public health area with substantial experience
  • Project management
General
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills with the ability to resolve complex situations
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to work proactively and independently
  • High level of organisation and time management skills and ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively across different teams and organisations in a collaborative manner
  • Ability to travel regularly between several different sites around the county
Technical Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceEssential
  • Experience of working in health and/or public health settings
  • Knowledge of clinical aspects of women’s health including LARC
Desirable
  • Good basic understanding of data
  • Experience of taking a leadership role
  • Understanding the political implications for certain decisions
  • Experience in report writing
  • Understanding of the health and social care system at local level
