Finance Planning ManagerMy client a top university based in the City of London have a temporary requirement for a Finance Planning Manager to join their friendly team on a temporary basis while they recruit permanently.This is a hybrid role where you will be required to work 2 days a week in office and 3 days at home.9 AM - 5 PM, Monday - FridayJob responsibilities: Support the month end process by analysing data to identify, prepare and post journals to make the month end financial results more accurate. Reconcile and allocate examiners fees and payroll suspense and develop process recommendations to increase the number of transactions Produce reconciliations (including accruals deferred income, prepayments and accrued income), explaining and providing evidence for certain transactions and ensuring their validity. Correct reconciling items on a timely basis and develop process recommendationsto prevent avoidable reconciling items.The role will also be involved in some or all of the following activities dependent on the work allocation across the team: Assist the process for annual capital and revenue budgeting, quarterly forecasts and 5 year plans. Maintain the Financial Management reports on the Business Intelligence and Agresso reporting systems. This includes the university wide budget holder reports. Liaising with HR business partner to ensure data validity whilst Financial Accounting post all staff payroll journals containing establishment ID. Overseeing the process to ensure the efficiency and robustness from a reporting perspective. Continuous analysis of capital reporting to drive effective and efficient use of budgets and ensuring forecasts are accurately reported. Processing monthly tuition fee income for all Faculties and analysing actual fees against budgeted fees to enable the switch from budgeted figures to actuals on a yearly basis. Responsibility for the up-keep of detailed budgets, reforecasts for Central services area ensuring that details are accurate, and are ready to review with finance stakeholders at short notice. Working with the Head of Financial Accounting to ensure that rolling forecasts reflect capital receipts schedule, alongside providing analysis as and when necessary. Assisting with posting of research income release journalsPerson:The ideal candidate would be part-qualified, studying towards completion of ACCA or CIMA and immediately available.
