Together with their clients in the Corporate Sector, Government, Police, Law Enforcement and Military; they have designed, delivered and supported numerous robust, cost effective and secure national network systems, electronic security and communication solutions.The RoleOur client is looking for a pro-active and energetic individual who thrives in a challenging SME environment, interacting with internal & external clients & suppliers and being part of a dynamic Technical Services Team.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of supporting IT infrastructure & Cyber Security solutions, within a high quality ITIL environment, delivering services to Corporate and Government clients.The role is part of the client’s Service Desk function, providing support and client system changes through their Service Desk following ITIL standards.This position is responsible for dedicated client support, escalation support and troubleshooting.The role reports directly to the Technical Team Leader on a daily basis.ResponsibilitiesThis role sits within the Technical Services team providing support capability. This is a development role and the job holder will be expected to progress being given increased levels of scope and responsibility as their experience and knowledge develops (training & development will be provided). There may be other opportunities such as supporting project work should the need arise.Required Competencies

  • Required ExperienceProvide 2nd line technical support on various IT based equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, PC’s & servers etc.Management of the support cycle from initial ticket handling to problem resolution according to clients SLAsCreation of technical & client support documentation in various formatsStrong experience with Windows Server and Desktop operating systemsActive Directory, Group Policy, Print Management and other server rolesMicrosoft ExchangeMicrosoft 365Networking including Firewalls & SwitchesBackup infrastructure and softwareMonitoring of client’s systems and networksStrong troubleshooting skillsDesirable Experience & QualificationsWorking knowledge of switching, routing and VPN protocols and techniques e.g. OSPF, Multicast, VRRP, Spanning Tree, IPsec & SSL VPN, QoS etc., across multiple platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet)Technical support on various IP network technologies including mobile phone (4G/5G), wireless Microwave (PtP & PtMP, licensed & un-licensed), Wi-Fi and wired systems including ADSL, CAT5/6 & fibreTechnical support on various IP based security equipment including digital codec’s, cameras and recordersConfiguration and utilisation of network management platforms (such as Solarwinds NPM & FortiManager)ITILv3/v4Cisco ICND/CCNAFortinet NSE4Juniper JNCIAMicrosoft MTAs, HyperVVMware VCAWhat is on offer:Basic £25k-£27k pay band dependent on experience + on call allowance + team performance bonus, 20 days holiday (+ Bank Holidays) + Perkbox + Pension
