Job Description

Are you an experienced Service Manager or Care Manager looking for a new challenging and rewarding role We are looking for a proactive and motivated hands on Manager to join our team who work within an intensive supported living premises. At Aspirations, we are passionate about making a real difference to individuals with complex needs, learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge and mental health issues, helping them to adjust to everyday life.You will be responsible for creating a setting where the people we support control their own lives by demonstrating and promoting the value of diversity and individuality, you will make things happen for the people we support. Helping our service users fulfil their aspirations through the management, review and development of a number of services. This position will require regular visits to the service location and regional offices in Gloucester.The role involves;

  • Completion of Person centred Care Plans and Risk Assessments which are reviewed and updated regularly.
  • complete, file and maintain records, case file notes, communication logs, risk assessments, incident reports, petty cash / finance records.
  • Communicate daily to your line manager and other departments regarding issues, incidents, audits and checklists.
  • Organise and attend quarterly service reviews with the service user, key support worker, social worker and family members.
  • Check the well being of service users.
  • Ensure standards of safety and cleanliness are met through property visits.
  • Report and action any maintenance issues.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels by managing the rota.
  • Produce weekly written reports.
  • Participate in an on-call rota system.
  • Staff management including staff rota, recruitment of staff, performance management, appraisals, staff training and disciplinary meetings.
  • Assist with the recruitment of support workers.
  • Coach and observe support workers for care certificate standards.
  • Assist with the payroll process.
  • Participate in an on-call rota.
  • Key skills and experience:
  • Proven experience at Management or supervisory level within Learning Disabilities or Mental Health.
  • Previous experience of supporting adults with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC standards, health and safety, quality assurance procedures and regulations.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Compassionate and patient with the desire to make a difference.
  • Strong people manager with a positive and motivated approach to lead by example.
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to think on your feet.
