Job Description

Production OperativeLocation: Staplehurst, Kent, TN12 0DSSalary: £8.91 - £9.50/hr, DOEHours: 40 hours, Monday to FridayContract: Full time, PermanentWe are Magnetic Shields; we are recruiting and we want you! Our new factory unit is due to be completed shortly which means several new roles being available for the right applicantsWe have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our production team as a Production OperativeWe are leading specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke magnetically shielded rooms, and have an expanding customer base throughout the UK, Europe, USA and AsiaWith a full manufacturing facility in Staplehurst, Kent fully equipped with the latest technology we are able to provide our customers with the highest level of service and qualityAll of our manufacturing processes, including heat treatment, are integrated in our production plantAbout the Production Operative role: This is a hands-on role where the successful candidate will be operating our Presses, and carrying out associated operations to produce the final product such as degreasing, deburring, trimming, flypress work and rumblingYou will also be responsible for:

  • Operate the automatic deep drawing press to standard procedures and training
  • Fulfil all orders, within a timely manner ensuring all product which is stamped on the press is correct & accurate to drawing
  • Keep work area clean & tidy
  • Assist within the factory where required, on semi-skilled operations - full training will be provided
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
  • Some experience within a factory/ manufacturing environment
  • Team player
  • Willingness to learn
  • Hands-on role, some manual lifting is required
It would be great if you had:
  • Experience of working within an ISO9001 quality system
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings
