Job Description

Director of People / People & Culture DirectorYour RoleOur client has recently re-branded their Human Resource department to the People and Culture team. As a result of large business growth and the opportunity take the business into the Agtech space we are looking for a P&C Director. The successful candidate will be totally empowered and targeted with creating an amazing culture and quality of person that works for the business - like that found at top Tech companies. We are looking for an individual that will demonstrate a true passion for developing and delivering exceptional people programmes and processes, and will help enable the continued growth of the business and its people. As a P&C Director across multiple businesses, you will develop, implement and administer key people programmes that will enable the businesses to scale effectively and drive a remarkable employee experience, including recruitment of great talent, supporting employee growth and development and the continued development of compensation and performance review systems that are in line with the values and company scaling plans. The clientOur client is a fast-growing ever-changing business at the cutting edge of the farming sector. After third party investment in 2016 and again in 2019 the business has experienced large profitable growth. The Group Companies are now looking for a People and Culture Director to join their senior team to enable the future growth and success of the company.   • Work with the leadership team to develop and implement our People and Talent strategy
  • Drive or facilitate the cultural change and embedding of new people and the culture initiative
  • Help position the group of businesses as an employer of choice
  • Build a robust hiring process that focuses on candidate experience, and results in hiring the very best talent
  • Work with the leadership team to identify and develop talent. We want to create as many career-defining opportunities for people as we can
  • Lead and evolve the People function and assume responsibility for leading a small team of People, and Talent generalists
  • Foster the values and help maintain and evolve the culture as the businesses grow. Being recognised internally as a role model and ambassador of our culture and values
  • Take a strong and innovative approach to performance management
  • Develop and maintain the people policies to ensure compliance with UK legal and regulatory requirements including but not limited to; privacy, employment law
  • Support leaders in the business on a wide range of generalist HR inputs
  • What you will need to succeed
  • You have experience working ideally in a fast-growth business (tech start-up would be valuable) leading the people operations team through growth and change
  • Previous leadership experience in building and leading high performing teams and a passion for leading and directing mixed teams, some of which will have high levels of emotional intelligence
  • Trained leader, negotiator, public speaker
  • Previous experience working as a generalist HR Business Partner and/or Manager
  • You are intellectually curious but commercially aware, and you can bring valuable insights into the team and business
  • Adherence to operational excellence and continuous improvement, utilising data-driven measurement and metrics to help drive decisions and results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to develop strong and productive relationships with people and stakeholders of all backgrounds and levels of seniority
